COMPANY OVERVIEW Our client is a specialist internal fit-out contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex, controlled environments to exacting standards. WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PROJECTS As Project Director, you will hold overall responsibility for a significant portfolio of controlled-environment fit-out projects within data centres and complex facilities across Europe. The work is technically demanding, programme-critical and carried out within live or highly regulated settings. You will lead a team of up to three regional contract managers, each overseeing projects in their region, giving you a true leadership role focused on strategy, performance, client relationships and commercial outcomes rather than day-to-day site management. The business operates with a lean, accountable structure where senior leaders have real autonomy and a direct line to the leadership team. With site visits of 1–2 days per week, the role balances hands-on project oversight with time to focus on people, planning and growth. RESPONSIBILITIES Take full responsibility for a portfolio of circa €50M across data centre and complex facility fit-out projects in Europe Lead, manage and develop up to three regional contract managers across 3–4 concurrent projects Drive programme, quality, safety and commercial performance across the portfolio Act as the senior point of contact for clients and main contractors, building long-term relationships and repeat business Work closely with commercial teams on cost control, change management, forecasting and margin delivery Oversee subcontract and supply chain performance across packages Report portfolio performance to the leadership team and contribute to business growth strategy Visit sites 1–2 days per week to support teams and maintain delivery standards WHAT YOU NEED 15+ years’ experience in key project delivery roles within construction Currently operating at Senior Contracts Manager or Project Director level A subcontractor background, or substantial subcontract experience, in fit-out, interiors, cladding, glazing, curtain walling or structural steel Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects and leading senior delivery teams Experience within data centres, life sciences or other controlled environments is beneficial but not essential Strong commercial awareness and client-facing leadership skills Willingness to travel to European project sites 1–2 days per week WHAT YOU’LL GET IN RETURN This position offers a salary of circa £130,000 plus benefits and travel support for European site visits.
